TOPIC 2: GOALS SETTING

Definition of goal:

In other words, goals are the ends and results which we direct our effort and hardword to. Goals are the results we desire to achieve the most after putting effort into a project.

Why do you need goals?

  1. Goals are the end which we direct our effort. What we(you) want to achieve!
  2. Goals are very important in your university life. They keep you motivated to attend classes, complete your assigned tasks and study to pass all of your exams with perfect scores!
  3. Even though you already may have set some goals before in your life, chances are you gave those goals very little thoughts and didn't consider whether your goals were realistics.
  4. You can actually improve your academic results and achieve great things in non-academic activities by learning to set realistic goals and making a thorough strategy to achieve it. 
  5. Having goals in your mind keep yourself motivated through your whole varsity life and you won't easily give up when you're facing obstacles and adversity.

Characteristics of a goal:

  1. Goals should be SELF-CHOSEN
  2. Goals should be MODERATELY CHALLENGING
  3. Goals should be REALISTIC
  4. Goals should be MEASURABLE
  5. Goals should be SPECIFIC
  6. Goals should be FINITE
  7. Goals should be POSITIVE

USING THE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)

         "Learning Management System (LMS) is a soft application that enables both instructors and lecturers to create, document, track, report and deliver courses to their students. Additionally, it helps the lecturers to deliver learning materials to their students, administer tests and other assignments, track their student progress and manage record-keeping. In UiTM, the Learning Management System (LMS) is called i-Learn, i-Learn's main purpose is to help students develop their skills in IT and utilizing the technology, and improve their knowledge acquisition and encourage information sharing".
